Spencer Strider strikes out 10 in win on Sunday

by Devon Bruce | Braves Correspondent | Sun, Sep 18th 6:17pm EDT

Spencer Strider pitched six innings, allowing one earned run on a hit and three walks while striking out 10 during Atlanta's win over Philadelphia on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Strider was working on a no-hit bid until he allowed a solo home run to Alec Bohm in the sixth inning, tying the game 1-1. He did have some trouble with his control allowing three walks for the second time in three games but more than made up for it, holding his opponent to one run or fewer for the fifth time in his last seven games. Strider managed to induce a strong 19 swinging strikes, struck out 10 and produced an elite 34 percent CSW on 106 pitches. Strider has been nothing short of dominant as a starter this season and looks like a lock to win the NL ROY award, besting his teammate Michael Harris II. Overall on the year, he has an 11-5 record with an excellent 2.67 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 202 strikeouts over just 20 starts. He's next scheduled to take the mound in a rematch against the Phillies on Friday.
