Gerrit Cole fans eight in no decision Friday

by Luke Monaldo | Yankees Correspondent | Sat, Sep 24th 8:32am EDT

Gerrit Cole pitched six innings, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight in New York’s 5-4 win over the Red Sox on Friday.

Fantasy Impact:

Cole allowed a 1st inning solo shot to Tommy Pham and then nothing until the 6th when he allowed the Red Sox to tie things at 4-4 and ultimately got the no decision. It was Cole’s third consecutive start allowing four runs but he is 1-0 in that span thanks to his stellar offense. Cole remains at 12-7 with a 3.49 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and 244 strikeouts (leads MLB) in 188 1/3 innings across 31 starts this season. Cole’s next start is slated for Wednesday in Toronto.
