Sandy Alcantara was excellent over right innings in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Nationals, allowing just one run on three hits and a walk while striking out 11.
Alcantara was completely dialed in on the mound Saturday night, as he needed only 99 pitches (75 strikes) to get through eight frames. Even more impressively, he managed to punch out double-digit batters for the sixth time this season while maintaining that level of efficiency. Alcantara has been masterful over his last three outings, giving up only four earned runs across 24 innings in that span. The Cy Young award contender will be back on the bump Friday in Milwaukee.
