Max Castillo pitched four innings, allowing six runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four in Kansas City’s 13-12 win against the Mariners on Sunday.
Fantasy Impact:
Castillo made his third start for Kansas City and first since September 4. Castillo gave his worst performance in a Royals uniform, by far, with the wheels coming off in the 5th inning when he faced five Mariners without recording an out. Somehow his offense came back and won to get him off the hook for the loss. Castillo remains at 0-1 with a 4.19 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 32 strikeouts in 34 1/3 innings across 12 appearances (5 starts) this season between Toronto and Kansas City. This was a spot start and Castillo may not start again this season.
