Kevin Gausman posts quality start on Monday

by Devon Bruce | Blue Jays Correspondent | Tue, Sep 27th 11:43am EDT

Kevin Gausman pitched 6 1/3 innings allowing two earned runs on six hits and a walk while striking out seven during Toronto's win over New York on Monday.

Fantasy Impact:

All of the damage done was via a first-inning Gleyber Torres sacrifice fly and then an Isiah Kiner-Falefa solo shot in the second inning. Otherwise, Gausman was sharp as he generated 14 swinging strikes, seven strikeouts and a solid 33 percent CSW on 94 pitches. He's been a bit more inconsistent as the season has worn on but overall Gausman has been great for the Blue Jays this year. On the season he has a 12-10 record with a 3.30 ERA and 1.23 WHIP with an excellent 201:28 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 30 starts. He's scheduled for at least one more start, coming against the Red Sox on Sunday.
