Jesus Luzardo worked six innings in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Mets, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out six.
Luzardo recorded his third straight quality start Wednesday night and seventh in his last eight outings. The young lefty is putting together a strong finish to what could certainly be considered a breakout campaign. Over his last 18 2/3 innings, Luzardo has pitched to a 2.41 ERA, 0.86 WHIP, and 23-to-4 K/BB ratio. He is in line to wrap up his season Monday versus the Braves.
