Freddie Freeman receives PRP injections

by Lee Harvey | Dodgers Correspondent | Thu, Jun 25th 10:29pm EDT

Atlanta Braves' 1B Freddie Freeman received a platelet-rich-plasma (PRP) injection in his injured wrist today in hopes it will minimize his stay on the disabled list. PRP injections are used to stimulate the healing of soft tissue and bones. The Braves are optimistic that their first basemen will be back before the All-Star break but the coaching staff is in no rush to bring him back before he is ready. (MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Fantasy players are going to want to stay away from using Atlanta stacks in their DFS tournament lineups. With no Freddie Freeman, there is just no one else to help jump start this lineup. If you couple Freeman's injury with the other Braves' players not stepping up to the chances they are given, it is just making Atlanta's lineup one to stay away from for optimal fantasy points.
