Angel Pagan

Angel Pagan had a productive night as the leadoff hitter for San Francisco

by Nathaniel Schwartz | Fri, Jun 26th 2:14am EDT

Angel Pagan was slotted into the leadoff role due to Nori Aoki's fibula fracture, and he rewarded the Giants with a 2-for-5 night. He hit one single, one double, drove in one run, and also scored a run himself.

Fantasy Impact:

Pagan has had a really rough month of June, only batting .179 with a .241 OBP, but the move to the leadoff role may actually help his fantasy value. Since he is not a slugger, he never drove in many runs in his regular three-hole spot anyway (only 19 RBI on the year), but in the leadoff spot he should not have to worry about that, instead just hitting for contact and trying take walks, and perhaps even seeing a slight increase in plate appearances.
