Alexis Diaz pitched the last inning and one-third of the Reds' 3-2 victory over the Cubs on Tuesday and recorded the win when the Reds walked the game off in the bottom of the ninth.
As Diaz also pitched Monday, his season is likely over. It was an excellent rookie campaign for the 26-year-old, who emerged as the Reds' best reliever this year. His final stats include seven wins, ten saves, a 1.84 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, and 11.7 K/9. Diaz will be a popular fantasy closer next season if the Reds commit to him in that role next spring.
