Shohei Ohtani wraps up 2022 with a solid five innings in Wednesday's loss

by Diego Sandoval | Dodgers Correspondent | Wed, Oct 5th 8:07pm EDT

Shohei Ohtani was hit with the loss after allowing one run on one hit and one walk while striking out six in five innings of Wednesday's 3-2 loss to the A's.

Fantasy Impact:

Angels pitchers have gotten very little run support from their offense as of late, and Ohtani was no different. Despite turning in his seventh straight start allowing two earned runs or fewer on Wednesday, he picked up his ninth loss of the year. On the mound, the 28-year-old will end the season with a 15-9 record thanks to a 2.33 ERA and a WHIP of 1.01 to go along with 219 strikeouts in 166 innings pitched. At the plate, he ends with a batting average of .273, 34 homers, 95 RBIs and 11 stolen bases in 157 games played.
