Nelson Cruz becomes a free agent

Fantasy Impact:
Cruz's mutual option for 2023 carried a value of $16 million, so it is no surprise the rebuilding Nationals decided not to pick it up. Cruz turned 42 years of age back on July 1 and showed definite signs of decline this past season. The seven-time All-Star compiled a .651 OPS, 10 home runs and 64 RBI across 124 games in 2022.
