Willson Contreras has declined the Cubs' $19.65 million qualifying offer and has become a free agent. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
There was some question if the Cubs were going to work out a contract extension with Contreras, but the 30-year-old catcher will hit the open market. He slashed .243/.349/.466 with a 132 wRC+ in 2022 and would be a fine addition to nearly any team in 2023.
