James Paxton exercises his one-year play option

Fantasy Impact:
Boston declined the two-year option that was worth $26 million option this week. Paxton has not pitched since making one appearance in 2021 with Seattle before he underwent Tommy John surgery. With his 2022 season lost to injury, Paxton will return to the Red Sox and attempt to get healthy enough to pitch for the team in 2023.
