Brandon Phillips goes 1-for-3 in win over Twins

by Kerry Kauffman | Thu, Jul 2nd 11:01am EDT

The Cincinnati Reds needed only six hits to defeat the Twins on Wednesday, 2-1. Brandon Phillips had a solid game, going 1-for-3 with a double, run scored and a walk. He's now batting .288 for the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Phillips has batted safely in seven straight games, although his average has increased only four points in the process. His slugging percentage and OPS are slightly below his career averages, but his batting average is higher. While not supplying as much power, Phillips is still a solid fantasy option at shortstop.
