The Mets are reportedly more focused on Verlander. The Yankees are likely losing Jameson Taillon and are looking to fill his spot in the rotation with a huge splash whether it be Rodon or Verlander. The deal Jacob deGrom got from the Rangers should give those two a favorable advantage to get a deal with close to deGrom's per-year numbers.
