Nationals place Stephen Strasburg on DL

The Washington Nationals have placed SP Stephen Strasburg on the 15-day disabled list with a left oblique strain, according to Mark Zuckerman of CSN Washington. (Mark Zuckerman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This marks the second time Strasburg has hit the DL this season. He had been solid since returning from his first stint on the DL, allowing only two earned runs and striking out 18 over 15.2 innings. Oblique injuries are known to linger, so it's very likely Strasburg misses more than the required minimum. Considering the investment he required this year, owners will likely have to stash him on the bench or DL and hope he is able to return and contribute positively in 2015.
