Jonathan Niese has an impressive outing

by James McGowan | Tue, Jul 7th 12:49am EDT

On Monday, the New York Mets beat the San Fransico Gaints 3-0. The Mets offense has continue to improve since going on a stretch where they scored very little runs. Jonathan Niese earned the victory pitching eight innings of shut out ball, allowing only three hits, while walking two, and striking out four.

Fantasy Impact:

Noise has been a lot better as of late for the Mets, since he struggled early on in the season. His command has been better, but sometimes out his offense and defense struggles behind him costing him games. Niese is 4-8 with a 3.58 ERA, in 98 innings pitched, and 67 strikeouts this season. Niese looks to be a solid trade assets for the Mets at the deadline, but he will bring a solid starter to a rotation that needs a middle of the rotation pitcher to sure up their staff. It'll be interesting to see what the Mets will do with Niese, but for now he will look to continue to pitch solidly and help the Mets get back into the playoff game.
