Jhonny Peralta voted in as All-Star Game starter

by Vinny Lanni | Tue, Jul 7th 12:12pm EDT

Former American Leaguer Peralta, who is leading the Cardinals in home runs (11) and runs batted (42), was on two All-Star teams while with Detroit — including in 2013, when he was suspended for 50 games in August of that year for a performance-enhancement drug violation. (STLToday)

Fantasy Impact:

Who would've thought a 33 year old Peralta would be starting in the All-Star Game at this stage of his career? Well, no one can deny that Peralta deserves the honors. The St. Louis Cardinals shortstop is having a career year and is on pace for a .297 average/22 home runs/83 RBIs. Yes, those are some deserving All-Star numbers indeed.
