Prince Fielder gets Rangers offense going in victory

by Dustin Fairchild | Sat, Jul 11th 2:55am EDT

Fielder started the scoring for the Rangers with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning Friday. Fielder wasn't done there as he then homered in the fourth inning ahead of Adrian Beltre. Beltre followed with one of his own as the duo hit back to back home runs against Ian Kennedy to put the Rangers up for good.

Fantasy Impact:

We felt a power surge was coming soon for Fielder, and sure enough over his last seven games he is slugging 1.030 with two home runs and four RBI. Realistically this is more of a flicker than a surge for a player with Fielders skill set, however you have to start somewhere. The All Star break is right around the corner perhaps at a bad time for Fielder. Don't be surprised if he goes deep again before hanging up the Texas Rangers red white and blue for a few days.
