Clay Buchholz placed on disabled list

Clay Buchholz (elbow), who was placed on the disabled list with a flexor strain Saturday, will be shut down from throwing for at least one week, CSN New England's Sean McAdam reports. (Sean McAdam on Twitter)

When owning Clay Buchholz, owners should expect two things. A bout of inconsistency and a trip to the DL. And last night an elbow injury is forcing Buccholz out for awhile. While it sounds like this injury could be serious, it looks to be a wait and see type of thing with the Red Sox shutting him down before he throws again. Owners will have to wait and see before seeing the progress of Buchholz.
