Fantasy Impact:
Whitlock underwent the knife late last season and was an early arrival to Red Sox camp in an effort to ramp up for the upcoming season in time. The former Rule 5 selection has made 68 of his 77 big-league appearances out of the bullpen but will work out of the Red Sox starting rotation to begin the season. He tossed a 3.45 ERA between nine starts and 31 appearances last season including a 4.15 ERA as a starter. With a career 21.5% K-BB%, Whitlock could be a solid fantasy asset if he holds onto a rotation spot.
