Robinson Cano suffers abdominal strain

by John Trupin | Wed, Jul 29th 11:29pm EDT

Cano sat out Wednesday's game against Arizona with a Grade 1 abdominal strain. The injury will keep the Mariners second baseman on the bench for a couple days. According to manager Lloyd McClendon, Cano will be eased back into the lineup at the DH position upon his return. (MLB.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Cano has shined recently, posting a .324/.384/.598 line over the last 30 games, making this setback frustrating. The Mariners look to be fading rapidly from contention, so they are unlikely to rush their star back until he is at full health. Owners will likely need to rely on other infielders for the rest of the week.
