Fantasy Impact:

The Yankees have had woeful performances from both Brendan Ryan and Stephen Drew at second base and add instant offense with Ackley. At 27 years old, Ackley has not lived up to his potential, but is still an upgrade at second base. He only has a .635 OPS this season, but slashes .296/.397/.481 at Yankees Stadium, with two home runs, and nine RBI. His addition also means that Robert Refsnyder will stay in the minor leagues this season, as Ackley will be the second baseman for the Yankees for the rest of the season. Ackley has played the oufield for the past two seasons and will provide depth in the outfield as well.
