On the one hand, the primary mission for the Red Sox over the final two months is to see as much as they can from players in the mix for significant roles in 2015 about whom they might still have questions. "We've got to gather information on players that are going to be here beyond 2015," Boston manager John Farrell said. On the other hand, for the second day in a row, free agent-to-be Alejandro De Aza was in the Red Sox lineup ahead of Rusney Castillo. Mike Napoli likewise was playing first base, with young corner infielder Travis Shaw watching from the bench. "It's a balance," Farrell acknowledged. (Providence Journal)

Fantasy Impact:

While it sounds like the Red Sox want to balance their roster, they may also be trying to showcase Alejandro De Aza for a waiver deal. While De Aza is playing, he is not playing enough to be fantasy relevant. If he was to end up in a starting job on a contending team, he would be someone to think about picking up.
