David Wright plays six innings in second rehab start

by Nick Ritrivi | Wed, Aug 12th 9:56am EDT

Wright played third base for the St. Lucie Mets last night for six innings. His ability to play the field was yet another step toward his return to the Mets from the spinal stenosis he is suffering from. Wright went 1-for-3 and is now 2-for-6 during his rehab stint. (NY Post)

Fantasy Impact:

Wright is expected to need at least 25 plate appearances before the Mets consider bringing him back to the MLB club. Assuming he has no setbacks, Wright could be ready to return by late August. Given the persistent back issues, however, it is questionable what type of power Wright will have once he is cleared to play. That said, he is certainly worth a stash in most formats for fantasy owners making a stretch run if he has been dropped.
