Carlos Gomez breaks out offensively in Tuesday rout

by James Ignatius Zeankowski | Tue, Aug 25th 11:24pm EDT

Starting again at center field during Tuesday evening's 15-1 routing victory over the New York Yankees, Carlos Gomez went on an offensive explosion. He went 2-for-6 with a three-run home run (his 10th of the year) and a RBI double to score Colby Rasmus in the 1st inning and scored 2 runs himself. He also tallied a pair of line outs, a ground out and a fly out collectively in the game. Gomez has risen his average up slightly to .245 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

This was a game that showed the true Carlos Gomez in all of his phenomenal offensive form. The benches clearing verbal fight wasn't exactly classy of him. However, it did show exactly how passionate this veteran outfielder is about the game he plays. Fantasy holders may actually want to go back to keeping a close eye on Gomez going forward.
