Matt Cain awful again in August

by Benjamin Bukacek | Wed, Aug 26th 11:09pm EDT

San Francisco Giants SP Matt Cain had another bad outing against the Chicago Cubs in a 8-5 loss on Tuesday night. Cain surrendered six runs on eight hits and was pulled from the game after the 5th inning when the Giants were down 6-0.

Fantasy Impact:

The 30-year old former All-Star is in danger of losing his role in the starting rotation. Cain hasn't won a game in a month and raised his ERA to 6.15 on the season. More importantly, his ERA in August is 8.05 and he has given up at least one home run in each of his five starts. There is speculation that Tim Hudson could come back to replace Matt Cain in the starting rotation.
