Dustin Pedroia aiming to begin rehab assignment

Dustin Pedroia (hamstring) is aiming to begin a rehab assignment within the next week, CSNNE.com reports. "He's initiating more and more baseball activities," interim manager Torey Lovullo said. "He's up to 40 ground balls now. He's swinging in the cage and some of the pre-game stuff here for BP. He's just ramping everything up. So at the end of that time period, we'll evaluate where he's at and see where we can get him into a game." (CSNNE)
