Brandon Nimmo scores thrice, Mets fall short in slugfest

by Chris Schommer | Mets Correspondent | Sun, May 19th 9:37am EDT

Brandon Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a double and three runs scored in the Mets' narrow 10-9 loss to the Marlins.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite the team's defeat, Nimmo's ability to cross the plate three times was a silver lining. His season batting average remains a concern at .216, and while his on-base skills are evident with a .149 walk rate, the lack of consistent hitting is a drag on his fantasy value. Nimmo's power numbers are modest, and his speed isn't making significant waves in the stolen bases category. Fantasy managers should view him as a situational play, best utilized in leagues that reward walks or runs scored, rather than expecting across-the-board production.
