Brett Gardner is 3-for-21 to start the month of September, posting hitless appearances in his last two starts against the Rays. Gardner does have two extra-base hits in his three hits this month, adding to his 42 extra-base hits this season. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Gardner does rank top-10 in the American League in walks (59), runs scored (85), and stolen bases (18), but he has struggled in the second half. He only has a .202 batting average in the second half and has a .584 OPS since the All-Star break. His batting average has progressively dropped this season, from .351 in June to .208 for the month of August, as Gardner has slipped from a top-10 OF to an OF3 at best.
