Jake Bauers Blasts Off, But Brewers' Stats Still Lag

Jake Bauers went 1-for-6 in the Brewers' 16-7 rout of the Braves, highlighted by a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI.
Fantasy Impact:
Despite the home run adding a bit of sparkle, Bauers's season-long struggle at the plate continues, with a batting average lingering around the Mendoza Line at .209. His power numbers are modest with nine homers and 37 RBI over 83 games, which are hardly the stats that fantasy managers dream about. Given his high strikeout rate of 32.6% and a less than stellar .313 wOBA, Bauers remains a risky pick in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues or perhaps as a bench option in NL-only formats. His occasional power surge does little to offset the overall drag he presents in batting average and consistent production.
