Edward Cabrera shines, Marlins fall short

Edward Cabrera delivered a strong performance, tossing seven scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and three walks, striking out four against the Padres on Friday.
Fantasy Impact:
Despite his commendable effort, the Marlins couldn't capitalize, ultimately losing 6-2. This outing was a bright spot in what has been a challenging season for Cabrera, who carries a bloated 5.20 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. His ability to suppress runs in this start could be a sign of turning things around, but his high ERA and WHIP still loom large for fantasy managers. While the improved control and strikeout numbers from this game are encouraging, Cabrera's overall inconsistency this season might make him a risky play in fantasy lineups.
