Verlander toes the rubber versus Kansas City on Friday

by Julius Bzozowski | Astros Correspondent | Fri, Sep 18th 1:14am EDT

Detroit Tigers SP Justin Verlander will look to right his own personal ship on Friday at Comerica Park versus the Kansas City Royals. Verlander has lost two starts in a row, both of which came against the Cleveland Indians. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

At this point, Verlander is probably just happy to see a team other than Cleveland. However, his past performances against Kansas City are not the most promising indicators either. Despite picking up the road win against the Royals on September 1st, Verlander has a 4.61 ERA against Kansas City for the year. Royals batters are hitting .309 off of him in 2015, and Verlander has pitched much worse at home (4.37 ERA in 55.2 IP) than he has on the road (2.70 ERA in 50 IP). With the game in Detroit, start Verlander at your own risk.
