Cole Hamels helps Rangers reduce magic number

Cole Hamels is certainly earning the "staff ace" label of late. Today he was in complete command, limiting Oakland to just four hits and one unearned run over six innings as the Rangers completed the sweep of the A's by a score of 8-1.
Fantasy Impact:
Hamels walked three and struck out only two on the day in upping his season record to 11-8. The Rangers now sit 3 1/2 games in front of idle Houston as they prepare to face the Astros in a three-game series in Houston starting Friday.
