Clay Holmes agrees to deal with Mets

The Mets plan on turning Holmes into a starting pitcher heading into the 2025 season. The deal includes an opt-out after the second year, allowing Holmes to potentially test the free agent market again after the 2026 season. Considering his career high in innings pitched is 70, Holmes will likely be placed on an innings restriction in his first MLB season as a starter.
