Jed Lowrie has been traded from the Houston Astros back to the Oakland Athletics for minor league right-handed pitcher Brendan McCurry. What position he will play at for the A's remains uncertain. (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
Lowrie was always a temporary fix for the 'Stros, as they awaited the arrival of potential superstar SS Carlos Correa. Injuries also played a role, as Lowrie was out for months with a torn ligament in his thumb, and was unable to regain his form afterward. Lowrie will likely be a starter for the A's, but his injury history makes him extremely risky to draft, so consider him a late-round flier with solid power upside.
