Jonathan Niese is traded to the Pirates

SP Jonathan Niese has been traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates for 2B Neil Walker. Niese is expected to make an immediate impact in the Pittsburgh rotation. (ESPN)
Fantasy Impact:
Niese will likely be a #3/#4 option in the rotation for the Pirates, and will provide a steady presence in what was a very up-and-down back end last season. Niese had a rough season last year, with his highest ERA (4.13) since 2011, due in part to a plummeting K/9 (5.76 in 2015). He will be a late-round low-upside/medium-to-high floor SP option that has the most value in deeper leagues where stability matters more.
