Jason Heyward signs with Cubs

The biggest free agent hitter is off of the free agent market, as Jason Heyward stayed in the NL Central and signed with the Chicago Cubs. The 26-year-old is the newest addition to a crowded Cub outfield. (Gordon Wittenmyer on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Jason Heyward is coming off of a season where he hit a career-high .293 and stole 23 bases in 26 attempts. He would be a perfect option at the top of the Cubs lineup and will consistently score 100 or more runs per season with sluggers Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo behind Heyward in the lineup. He has a career .898 OPS at Wrigley Field and his power would improve at the hitter friendly Wrigley Field. Hayward has averaged 46 extra base hits per season in his six MLB seasons and should be a 50 extra base hit/20 steal/100 run player in Chicago.
