Colin Rea suffers loss Saturday despite seven solid innings

by David Leisering | Cubs Correspondent | Sat, May 23rd 11:38pm EDT

Colin Rea pitched seven innings on Saturday and allowed three runs on four hits, walked three, and struck out four as the Cubs were blanked by the Astros, 3-0.

Fantasy Impact:

Rea pitched well on Saturday, but could not solve Christian Walker on Saturday which led to his third loss of the season. Walker went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI off of Rea - the rest of the Astros lineup had just one hit off the righthander. It was Rea's longest outing of the year and was a solid effort after allowing nine runs on 13 hits in nine innings over his previous two starts. Rea will take a 4-3 record and a 4.83 ERA into his next scheduled start at Pittsburgh on Thursday.
