Andrew Painter turns in excellent outing Wednesday
by Nate Miller | Phillies Correspondent |
Andrew Painter fired seven scoreless innings in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to the Diamondbacks, allowing only two hits and no walks while striking out six.
Fantasy Impact:
Painter continues to prove himself here in the stretch run for the Phillies, but the bats couldn't generate anything to support the rookie's outstanding performance Wednesday afternoon. Over seven starts going back to July 31, Painter has put up a solid 3.12 ERA and 0.89 WHIP with 38 strikeouts across 40 1/3 innings. He's in line to return to the mound Tuesday against the Astros.
