Justin Upton leaves game after Anthony Gose steps on his ankle

by Brendan Ross | Thu, Mar 10th 2:35am EST

Justin Upton left Wednesday's Spring Training game against the Washington Nationals for "precautionary reasons" after having his left ankle stepped on by Anthony Gose. (Jayson Stark on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Although Upton is scheduled to serve as the DH for Thursday's game, whether he plays depends on how his ankle feels in the morning. Fortunately, early reports are that the injury is likely not serious, but keep an eye on the situation as drafts approach. With a current FantasyPros ECR of 35 against an ADP of 52, Upton is being heavily undervalued, being drafted a full 17 picks later than his ECR. If healthy, Upton would be an absolute steal of a pick. Expect Upton to hit 25-plus home runs with double digit steals.
