Jonathan Papelbon and Nationals looking for a bounceback 2016

by Jamie Mellor | Sat, Mar 12th 2:52am EST

Papelbon opened the 2015 season with NL East underdogs Philadelphia before moving to the Nationals in a mid-season trade. Papelbon had a strong ERA and WHIP at 2.13 and 1.03 but only managed 24 saves.

Fantasy Impact:

Washington is hoping to perform more like the promise of 2015 than the reality. The improvement for the Nationals sees Papelbon's Zeile projection have a slight regression in the ratios but a rise to 33 saves which is a solid number for a closer. There is room for some profit at his current placement in the mid-teens of closers.
