Scherzer threw seven innings of two run, three hit ball while striking out seven. The only runs he allowed were homeruns by Freddie Freeman and Adonis Garcia.

Scherzer will look to build on a solid 2015 campaign that saw him strikeout 276 and maintain an ERA of 2.79. Scherzer should see a spike in wins with the addition of a proven manager and defensive savy left fielder.
