Starlin Castro

Starlin Castro an impact player in Opening Day loss

by Chris Zolli | Tue, Apr 5th 7:49pm EDT

Starlin Castro may have only been 1-for-3 against the Astros on Tuesday afternoon, but his one hit was a two-run double that gave the Yankees a 2-0 lead in the third inning. Although the Yankees lost to the Astros 5-3, Castro's outing gives the Yankees hope for the 2016 season from their new 2B.

Fantasy Impact:

The 26-year-old Castro has 992 career hits, showing that he is a legitimate middle infield option, but he only had a .671 OPS with the Cubs in 2015. Ben Zobrist and Addison Russell forced Castro out of the Windy City, but the Yankees will hope that he can post an OPS over .750, as he has done four times in his six year career. A powerful Yankee offense could see Castro score 75 or more runs and an OPS in the mid-.750's would make him worthy of a roster position in all formats.
