Johnny Cueto overcomes early struggles to earn a win
by Jeff Krisko | Rangers Correspondent | Wed, Apr 6th 12:22am EDT
Cueto needed less than 100 pitches to go seven innings. He struggled early, giving up a run and four of his six hits in the first three innings before settling down. He only struck out four, but did not walk any batters.
Fantasy Impact:
Cueto's velocity was down throughout the game, but his movement was as-advertised. The Giants' big free agency acquisition is looking to bounce back to his back-end SP1/high-end SP2 value and produce a potent one-two punch with Madison Bumgarner. He was bailed out by the Giants' great defense more than once, but luckily he gets to play in front of them all season.
