Multi-hit game for Dustin Pedroia
by Chris Zolli | Mon, Apr 11th 10:08pm EDT
Dustin Pedroia finished 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Orioles on Monday. Although the Red Sox lost 9-7 in their home opener, Pedroia saw his batting average jump to .321.
Fantasy Impact:
Pedroia now has a modest five-game hitting streak, including three multi-hit games, and the 2008 MVP has scored four runs this season. He has not provided much in the way of run production, two extra-base hits and two RBI, but he has served as a catalyst at the top of the Red Sox lineup. Injuries and inconsistency saw Pedroia's stock plummet before the 2016 season, but he could be a top-10 2B with his strong batting average and runs scored potential.
