Carlos Gomez plates a run Tuesday

by James Ignatius Zeankowski | Tue, Apr 19th 11:49pm EDT

Coming back to center field on Tuesday in the loss to the Texas Rangers, Carlos Gomez went 1-for-4 with a RBI double in the 2nd inning. While also flying out, lining out and striking out, he has made a slight jump in his average, which is now up to .196 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Gomez was brought over from the Brewers last season in an attempt to provide extra pop for the Astros. So far, he has not done that very much, reducing his average by over 20 points in that stretch. The hope is that his first RBI can get his wheels going again. Owners can keep a player like Gomez around for his defensive prowess (a career DRS of 84 over 9 seasons), but monitor his at-bats like a hawk for, at the very least, the rest of April.
