Jon Lester earns second victory with a quality start in Cincinnati

by Nathaniel Schwartz | Sat, Apr 23rd 5:34am EDT

Jon Lester turned in his second consecutive quality start with a seven inning performance against the Reds. Lester only allowed one earned run (off of a solo home run) off of five hits and one walk. He struck out four batters and threw a total of 100 pitches to improve to 2-1 on the year.

Fantasy Impact:

Lester is finally looking like the pitcher the Cubs paid for in December of 2014. He is currently sporting a 1.98 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP. Lester seems to still have trouble throwing the ball to first base, so expect teams to continue to steal plenty of bases off of him, but beyond that minor issue he looks like a solid bet going forward.
