Clayton Kershaw undone by disastrous sixth inning

by Eric Westlund | Dodgers Correspondent | Wed, Apr 27th 1:56am EDT

Clayton Kershaw was utterly dominant through five innings on Tuesday night, as he entered the sixth frame leading 3-0 with eight strikeouts, no walks, and just one hit allowed. Kershaw then gave up four consecutive tough-luck hits to make the score 3-2 before Giancarlo Stanton made it 5-3 with a 433-foot bomb. He recovered with two more strikeouts to end the inning and pitched a scoreless seventh as well.

Fantasy Impact:

Kershaw was a victim of sequencing tonight, as seven innings with ten strikeouts, zero walks, and seven hits has the look of a dominant start. There is obviously nothing for fantasy owners to worry about here. Kershaw's season-long ERA now sits at 2.43 and should be expected to trend downward.
