Dan Straily pitches six solid innings, but Reds offense remains silent

by Justin Elick | Sat, Apr 30th 10:06am EDT

Straily had his best outing of the season on Friday night against the Pirates, allowing just two earned runs across six solid innings. He gave up five hits, walked three, and struck out five in a 4-1 loss. The Reds' offense continued to struggle, however, and Straily was a tough luck loser after receiving zero runs of support.

Fantasy Impact:

Straily is a cheap option across daily sites, but this is also the first time he has lasted through six innings. He has done a fine job of limiting damage, but has very limited upside. He is only an option in the deepest of NL-only leagues at this point and even that may be a stretch. The stagnant offense and struggling bullpen certainly aren't doing him any favors right now.
